Week 2: Saturday Morning Lights! 🏊‍♂️🔥

(This one’s a little shorter… but still packed with good stuff!)

Hello Bantam Members!

Week two of the CrossFit Open is here. Congratulations to everyone who completed Open 26.1 and helped make Friday Night Lights such a great kickoff to the season. The energy in the gym was awesome and it was great seeing everyone support one another.

This week we’re switching things up a bit.

Instead of Friday Night Lights, we’ll be hosting Saturday Morning Lights for Open 26.2. If you can’t make it Saturday morning, please talk to a coach and we’ll help schedule a time outside of class to get your workout completed.

🏆 Intramural Open – Week 2

The Intramural Open is rolling right along, and teams will continue earning points each week!

Weekly points can be earned by:

• Completing the Open workout
• Participating in Friday Night Lights / Saturday Morning Lights
• Judging another athlete
• Dressing on theme

Week 2 Theme: POOL PARTY

Feel free to get creative with it!

Ideas include:

• Goggles
• Snorkels
• Floaties
• Beach or pool-themed shirts

Please don’t wear your bathing suit… unless you really want to.

Half the fun of the Open is the atmosphere, so lean into it and have some fun with your outfit.

🌟 Saturday Morning Lights Schedule

Tentative Schedule

Doors Open: 7:00 AM

Heats will begin at 7:30 AM and run every 30 minutes until the final heat at 10:00 AM.

This schedule may be adjusted depending on the workout time domain and equipment needs.

If you have time afterward, feel free to hang out just like we did after Friday Night Lights last week.

⏰ Open Score Reminder

Week 1 scores must be entered (by you!) before 8:00 PM Monday, March 2.

If you completed the workout but didn’t register yet, you can still sign up and submit your score.

The Open is one of the best ways to track your progress year after year, and it’s always fun to look back and see how far you’ve come.

📈 What’s Coming Up This Week

We’ve got a great mix of strength and conditioning this week as we continue building through this cycle.

Workouts will push you early in the week and taper slightly as we get closer to Saturday’s Open workout.

🗓 Weekly Breakdown

Monday
Power snatch work focusing on technique at moderate weight. The workout will be a low-rep AMRAP that challenges you to find and maintain a sustainable pace.

Tuesday
Bench Press Day! The workout will feature short AMRAPs with brief rest periods in between.

Wednesday
Deadlift strength work followed by a quick “for time” workout combining a barbell and cardio.

Thursday
Mid-week partner workout. Bring the energy!

Friday
Recovery-focused day with an alternating EMOM (either programmed or athlete’s choice), followed by some Pliability to help you recover and prepare for the Open.

Saturday
Open Workout 26.2 – Saturday Morning Lights!
